Chapter 16

Chapter 16

The Tet

Vinh

Like last year, the party in Vinh for the foreigners of the area. This time we even got the right to the speeches in Korean and Japanese. Fortunately it was translated into Vietnamese and Yarden was thirsty and needed to pee.

Otherwise the meal was very good,

especially the big ice of the entrance and the show even better this time

with girls of the German cultural center dancing belly dancing on Arabic music.

As a gift we had a nice bag for touch pad.

At least we already have the bag.

Returning ... But it's ok, there are taxis everywhere.

Otherwise in the farm the cows are still more numerous, construction is progressing less quickly and tractors begin to be broken down, Or no longer here to repair them.

As for Gilad, he now has a great aquarium in his office.

A Sunday in the jungle

This trip was great.

Fortunately Baz is still there to lead us.

Is that when you venture in a small road, you don't know if it will get somewhere.

So we continued walking

along the river,

throwing a few stones from time to time

as well as splashing into the water

and playing with sand and pebbles.

Even the raft was there at the bend of a meander to the delight of Baz and Yarden.

To end the day, the coffee break and a few balls.

Otherwise we tested the lau with colleagues from the farm,

it's a fondue but with soup. It's very good.

Thai Hoa

This year, the TH company decided to celebrate the New Year in Thai Hoa, in a party room. On the menu gas grill and of course the rice wine for the toasts by going around the tables. Mot Hai ba yo has been heard many times.

No show but a few songs by the Chief Veterinarian.

Even Gilad danced

and Yarden, after spending all the evening with her girlfriend on stage,

ended up dancing on the table.

They also organized a fun little game: to feed a partner a piece of cake full of cream, blindfolded.

And like last year, general distribution of milk cartons in the parking lot.

Even we got ours.

And here we are on vacation again.

On the way to school, he walks his piggy.

Yarden is doing very good in English even if she answers in Vietnamese.

By cons in French and ivrit it's sometimes very poetic:

Me: « It's nice to see the lights in the city ».

Yarden: « What are we going to see up there tomorrow, toothpaste? »
Moi: « But no it's called fireworks. And how do you say in Hebrew ? »
Yarden: « Koukiot ».
Moi: « Hmmm ».
Yarden: « Zikoukiot that make boom trach boom trach in the sky ».

Yarden: « Look here on the ground, there are jams ».

Hanoï

So we left to Hanoi to see the fireworks and especially because at the farm, it's so quiet.

That way, at least half of the holiday, not to remain confined at home. Even Gilad decided to join us.

As every year everything closes, but we still managed to do some pottery

in the pottery village

and go for a stroll to the flowers market that's in full swing at this time,

as the city.
Like last year also Yarden received her dollar and a small red envelope. Even I received a small bag with salt in it .
Another custom is to burn, in the early hours of New Year bank notes (fake anyway), so that the ancestors can enjoy from where they are.

Otherwise we strolled
until the car

which has to bring back Micha.

At home ...

It's really quiet. All the staff is gone, even Ngoc and the cook. Only the expatriates are left.

Savta Miry on skype: "So you're on vacation?"
Yarden: "I am not on vacation I'm in Thai Hoa!"

In the meantime we try to find some things to do. Tal took us to visit the irrigation system that we had not seen yet,

the farm 6 still under construction

where the cows are still outside

and the maternity hospital in farm 3.

As for the next day we went to Kim

to wish her a happy new year with some sweets.

Suddenly, all the teachers landed with a bunch of red envelopes.

Finally Yarden stayed there for the night.

On the way back from her home, a small stop at Nga's to see how her stepmother prepares her betel quid.

Is that it has always intrigued me the red teeth of old ladies.

This year for Gilad's birthday, all the ingredients of chocolate cake were there, a big heavy cake that took to Yarden and I all day to make.

The one that Ngoc acquired at the village was still more finely decorated.

Besides Yarden sings very well Happy birthday to you.

And speaking of song, singing by chance: "Sevivon, sov sov sov ... Mom nes gadol is a large coffee? "
